‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 9, episode 14 preview: April in jeopardy
April has been fighting hard to save the trauma center on “Grey’s Anatomy” in the wake of cutbacks and the lawsuit; but unfortunately, one risk that she takes during the episode next week may be a risk too far. Not only is she putting all of Seattle Grace on the line for going against their own protocol, but she also risks the life of a ten-year old boy.
So what exactly happens? Basically, April makes the call to bring in the young patient after a serious accident, but the problem here is that the hospital has already cut out their trauma center in hopes of getting the place on better financial footing. Therefore, just bringing in a patient to begin with that they may not be able to fully treat was a mistake that could hurt a potential sale down the road, and this is going to be a struggle just to save this kid’s life.
On a different note, there will be a major air of competition throughout the episode as several doctors face off to be the “face” of Seattle Grace (possibly through some new advertisements going up throughout the city). With that in mind, prepare to see the jealous sides of a few people come out as things get competitive, and egos get in the way of rational thinking.
Finally, we’re hearing that this episode will be an important one for Alex as we continue to further along his story. Over the past several months his relationship with Jo has evolved, but it is still not in the sort of romantic place that many fans are hoping for. After all, this is the first real shot at romance the guy has had in years, and he is playing it safe rather putting himself in danger of losing everything.
