‘Glee’ season 4, episode 12 preview: See what inspires ‘Men of McKinley’ calendar
While there is some pretty great potential for there to be plenty of great storytelling on the upcoming “Naked” episode of “Glee” season 4 airing on Thursday night, we have to be somewhat realistic here when we say that there is probably a different reason that many young people out there are excited when it comes to this new season: the Men of McKinley calendar. Some of the guys from New Directions will be going shirtless in an effort to raise money for Regionals in Indianapolis, and as we have now learned, this entire idea was really the product of Jenna Ushkowtiz’s Tina.
So what is her rationale behind this? As she explains in the video below, it is really rather simple: she believes that this is the hottest group of guys in New Directions that McKinley High has ever had (we’re sure this would make Mike Chang sad, if the show pretended that he even existed at the moment), and it is a much easier way to raise real money than having a bake sale or some of the more traditional methods of fundraising that we could be doing.
What we find especially interesting at the moment, and this may be an interesting commentary on the different ways in which the men and female bodies are objectified in society, is that no one seems to be up in arms about teenage guy characters stripping down for a calendar, even though everyone had a giant conniption a few years ago when Lea Michele and Dianna Agron did something similar in GQ, and that was not even affiliated with the show.
In getting back to the show, what are you the most excited to see with this episode? We want to hear all of your thoughts below, and you can check out one excellent musical performance from “Naked” by clicking here.

Seriously think the producers and writers of this show need their heads and hearts examined as this show is devolving into one hot perverted mess.Have watched only two episodes this season. Won’t be putting myself through that again. My sympathy goes out to the actors who are required to slog through the travesty the show has become. What once was quirky, charming and cutting edge is gone leaving all our heads spinning wondering why the producers can’t seem to reconnect with the winning formula they once excelled at.Cut the sleaze, please, for the actors sake. They deserve better.

This is ridiculous! Did GLEE just want a later time slot so they could pimp out the supposed young underage boys of McKinley in a calendar? May I also ask I know its a TV show but what parent would let their child who is already supposedly viewed as losers and underdogs do something that makes them more of a target for bullying and ridicule by the whole school. This is really quite sad and stupid. This show is no longer for young preteens or teenagers its for hustlers and GLEE writers who are testing parents and the common sense of its viewership/fanbase. When did it become so sexualized and when did it completely lose its moral compas?.
