ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 5 spoilers: New details on sweeps two-parter

Could the wait get more intense for the two-part episode of “Castle” airing during the February sweeps? Well, we are about to find out, since some just-released details about the installments airing on the 18th and the 25th of next month have hit the internet, and there is so much promise here to not only have an intense case, but a future shocker that the characters never see coming. After all, we are going to be meeting Castle’s dad in the second episode, and who knows just what sort of impact that is going to have on our author long-term?

Episode 2.15, “Target” – “In the first of a two part story arc, Castle & Beckett begin a murder investigation that also exposes a plot to kidnap the daughter of a wealthy Middle Eastern businessman. Dylan Walsh (‘Nip/Tuck’) guest stars as FBI Agent Harris, an even-keeled professional brought in to help find the kidnappers.”

Episode 2.16, “Hunt” – “In the conclusion of a two-part story arc, Castle’s efforts on the case suddenly put his own life in danger. Emmy and Golden Globe-winner James Brolin (‘The West Wing,’ ‘Marcus Welby, M.D.’) guest stars as Castle’s dad.”

Considering that we are only going to be meeting Rick’s father for the second of the two episodes, is there really going to be enough time to answer all of the questions that we have … especially with another case going on? Remember that it is possible that this is not the last time that we see Brolin on the show, and this could just be a tease for something rather interesting happening later on.
