‘The Good Wife’ season 4 spoilers: ‘Private Practice’ alum checks in

The Good WifeAudra McDonald is going to be returning to “Private Practice” for the upcoming series finale set to air on ABC next week; but following that up, she is going to be taking off to a completely different sort of critically-acclaimed show in “The Good Wife.”

So what sort of part is she going to be playing? According to The Hollywood Reporter, the actress and Broadway veteran will be taking on the part of a rival to Alicia who has quite an extensive history of working both with her and against her. As a matter of fact, the two date back all the way to their days at law school. We don’t know sadly that much else about her character, but she is going to turn up just as Julianne Margulies’ character is raring up for yet another showdown in the courtroom.

For just about any star in TV, there is really no better gig out there at the moment than having an opportunity to take part in “The Good Wife.” For more examples of that, just look at the impressive resume of past guest stars on the show including Michael J. Fox, Matthew Perry, Christina Ricci, Martha Plimpton, Maura Tierney, Lisa Edelstein, Nathan Lane, and most recently T.R. Knight. You can often win Emmys by appearing here, and you also get an opportunity to play a character that is edgy, adult, and very exciting. Let’s just hope that McDonald gets plenty of opportunities to shine in the time in which she is allotted to appear (which is currently one episode).
