‘Fringe’ series finale spoilers: Finish the fight with new trailer
It’s been a long time coming, “Fringe” fans; but on Friday, the end is here. In one final bit of promotion for this long-awaited final episode, which should be a testament to everything that this series has stood for over the years, Fox has released a new full-length trailer that to us really fulfills one purpose: trying to set up just how epic the final two hours of this show are going to be.
The one thing that we love especially about this video is how it at times feels almost like a trailer to a movie that even casual fans or non-viewers of the show could enjoy; in that way, it is reminiscent of when we first saw “Serenity” prior to actually watching “Firefly,” on to later go back and discover what a bonehead move Fox made by canceling it. It is ironic in a way that “Fringe” really has “Firefly” to thank for its success, as Kevin Reilly obviously wanted to see the show run its course rather than face any sort of backlash for canceling it early.
As if just having a two-minute video preview was not great enough, there is also a heavy dose included of John Noble, a man who is far and away to us the star of the show, and the most egregious snub year after year made by all of the awards shows. Walter Bishop has long been a convoluted character, but despite all of his mistakes and the problems he internalizes, his desire to try and save the world from the Observers rises above everything.
What do you think about this trailer: does it do the series justice, and pave the way wonderfully for what is next? If you want to watch another clip for the final episode, be sure to pay a visit over to the link here.
