‘Game of Thrones’ season 3: Prepare next with reflections from Lena Headey
Want another thing to keep you excited for the “Game of Thrones” season 3 premiere? After watching the latest clip that we have from the show’s upcoming season 2 DVD (which hits stores on February 19), you have yet another reason to smile as you wait patiently for the return to Westeros.
This video comes to us courtesy of The Huffington Post, and it is a part of a rather lively roundtable discussion featuring a number of the actors, including Kit Harrington (Jon Snow), Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targeryan), and of course the subject of this video in Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister). The actress has some very interesting viewpoints on her character, as she feels that there is a part of her that envies both of her brothers and wants to be each one of them badly, even if she simultaneously also hates Tyrion and just about everything that he stands for. Specifically, she goes into great detail about the shove of him during a pivotal scene, which is something that was not even written in the script.
As for what is coming up for the character next, those who read A Storm of Swords already know that there are some interesting movements ahead for the Lannister family. Without giving too much away, it is safe to say that the arrival of Tywin is going to make for a much more difficult experience for Cersei, especially since she will now be no longer able to assert her will in the same sort of manner despite being King Joffrey’s mother.
As for Tyrion, his position is even more delicate given that the man is seemingly on the outs of the royal court, and he has to find a way to sneak his way back into some power now that he is no longer Hand of the King.
