‘Fringe’ series finale spoilers: Take a look at the first promo!
In just under a week now, “Fringe” will be coming to an end; but before the curtain does drop, at least Fox is being kind enough to open up both the budget for an explosive final two hours that will hopefully answer at least some of the questions responsible for breaking Reddit boards for the past several years.
Unfortunately, the first promo for the series finale below does not really give away too much when it comes to plot points, though it does deliver in just about every other way. Within the span of 30 seconds (or 31, if you really want to get technical about it), we have multiple worlds, Observers, Walter nearly making us cry, and visual effects galore. Somehow, we still have a feeling that all of this will still not hold a candle to the actual episode when it airs.
Is it too much to ask for just a few simple things when it comes to this episode?
1. That it gives us an ending worth talking about, and not a desperate attempt to make all fans happy (which is pretty much impossible).
2. That it gives us some sort of hope for these characters’ future.
3. That come next summer, awards shows actually choose to remember that this show exists, which is something that they have tragically been unable to do until this point. How is it that John Noble has never received an Emmy nomination?
After this episode airs, the other thing worth looking forward to is seeing what some of the cast actually has to say about filming it. Thus far, they have all been kept under a tight lock and key; not only that, but even past stars such as Seth Gabel have been gagged in fear of spoilers getting out.
Ultimately, it’s hard to feel anything other than excitement after watching a promo like this; let’s just hope that the episode itself delivers.
