‘Game of Thrones’: Prepare for season 3 with … rapping? (video)
Today in the world of “Game of Thrones,” we have something to share that is completely and utter ridiculous and we have to admit that it’s nice to see a side to the Stark children that is not quite so somber and forlorn for a change.
In the video below (which is going to be one of the bonus features for the show’s upcoming season 2 DVD), you can hear the likes of Maisie Williams (Arya), Sophie Turner (Sansa), and Isaac Hempstead Wright (Bran) all rapping their own version of the title theme for the show. This comes after they all sang the theme song a year ago, and it looks as though they are completely making up the lyrics as they go along (though the lines about both Pike and Beyond the Wall are especially hilarious).
One of the reasons why “Game of Thrones” continues to be a stellar example of TV at its finest (and also one of the reasons why we proclaimed it to be the Show of the Year for 2012) is because this show really seems to do child actors justice in every sense of the word. It does not feel as though these characters are there to have comic relief, and nor does it feel like they are vastly inferior to the rest of the show’s cast. Instead, these people are all completely-developed characters that are going to play enormous roles in the future of Westeros as a whole (even if Sansa no longer seems to be in line to marry Joffrey, much to her own dismay).
What do you think about this “version” of the theme song, and do you think that any of these three have a future in being an MC? We want to hear some of your thoughts below, and you can also read some more “Game of Thrones” season 3 scoop over at the link here.
