‘The Bachelor’: ’50 Shades of Grey’ fanatic Ashley Palenkas calls gig ‘hilarious’

While there was not necessarily a breakout “star” on the premiere of Sean Lowe’s “The Bachelor,” there was one woman who certainly made a rather drunken impression on both her fellow ladies in the house as well as every single person watching at home: Ashley Palenkas. She came in saying that she wanted to make Sean her version of Christian Grey, and she also made the rather unusual choice to actually lead off with bondage as a topic of conversation for whatever reason (we are still not altogether sure why).

So was Ashley upset, mortified, or embarrassed about watching herself on TV? Based on what she wrote on her Twitter immediately after the episode aired, the stylist seemed to believe that it was really all in good fun:

“Well i think i killed it tonight on the bachelor. HILARIOUS!!!! And mom said she wa proud. ‘Like mother like daughter’ <shefallsalottoo>”

With her “mom” comment, Ashley is referring to one of her closing comments, where she expressed some worry that her mother was going to be mortified by what she saw on TV. There were a number of contestants who took their exit from the show much harder than Ashley did … especially country singer Kelly, who was worried almost immediately that no man alive would want to date her after she came on national television and performed an incredibly cheesy song for Sean in order to impress him.

Sadly, we have no more “50 Shades of Grey” references probably until at least “The Women Tell All” … and they better invite her back for that.

Even if there was no chance that Ashley was going to make it through acting like this, did you at least find this a welcome dose of hilarity in the premiere?
