‘Here Comes Honey Boo Boo’ preview: When mayonnaise attacks
Just in case you’ve missed the sound of children screaming, “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” is returning to TLC with a series of specials beginning on Sunday night; and with that very thing in mind, we are going to see quite possibly one of the strangest fears out there: mayonnaise-o-phobia.
Admittedly, there is a part of us that wants to feel where June is coming from the in the video below in explaining her fear of the condiment: she claims that a babysitter made her eat it all the time as a child, and the condiment itself can look and smell pretty disgusting. (We’ve never been much of a fan.) But to close your eyes at the very sight of a bowl full of the stuff? This is the sort of thing that you may want to seek professional help for.
“Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” was a smash hit for TLC over the summer, so it is no surprise to see the network already dipping back to the well. Like most of their other family-based reality shows, they likely realize that there is going to be a pretty short shelf life here. Eventually, young Alana Thompson is going to grow older, and she may not be so keen at that point to run around drinking go-go juice and uttering catchphrases like she is some sort of sitcom character. While there are some very questionable practices displayed on the show from time to time (and June’s version of spaghetti is really a crime against food everywhere), we will at least give this family some credit for not having nasty personal drama behind the scenes, and for keeping most of the subject matter family friendly and somewhat close to what we could see a family like this doing.
