‘Fringe’ season 5 spoilers: Leap forward in time
Since we are writing this article on the first day of 2013, it only makes sense that the subject matter would in some way involve some sort of time travel of its own. “Fringe” season 5 will be back on the air a week from Friday, and with that we will begin the final home stretch that will end the following week with a two-hour spectacular, one that will hopefully answer all of the countless burning questions that we have about the entire series (and not just the mysteries of the past several months).
One nice thing that we can already promise will be in this next episode, at least per Zap2It, is a nice callback from the show’s pilot episode for Olivia. This is something that executive producer J.H. Wyman has done extremely well over season 5 thus far, as he has made this season into something for the diehard fans who have stuck around through everything to watch the show.
As for that aforementioned time travel, Captain Windmark is going to jump forward during this episode to 2609, and in the process we are finally going to learn a bit more about these Observers, including just how they were created, what the point of their creation was, and even how they reproduce. (No, it’s not by traditional means at all.) This timeline should give us a greater sense of not only their own motivations, but what Peter, Olivia, and Walter are working to fight on a grand scale.
This episode is entitled “The Boy Must Live,” and we are going to have plenty more on it prior to it airing on the small screen. Want to know more for now? If so, all you have to do is head on over to the link here to watch a promo.
