‘Once Upon a Time’ season 2 spoilers: ‘The Walking Dead’ guest signs up
We have another new face joining the world of “Once Upon a Time,” and this is a role that there is surely much more going on here than what has been already announced.
According to reports, Sonequa Martin-Green, whose credits include “The Walking Dead” (as Sasha) and “The Good Wife”), is going to be jumping over to the ABC drama series for at least a handful of episodes moving forward as the character of Tamara. There is not much else known definitely about her role just, but producers were looking specifically for an African-American character with a British accent.
Even if the writers are keeping things under wraps, that doesn’t stop us from speculating, right? While some fans were wondering if this was going to turn into a take on “The Princess and the Frog,” the fact that this recent Disney story was set in Louisiana seems to make that a little less likely considering the aforementioned accent. Our sleeper pick at the moment is Tinkerbell, only because it would be an inspired choice that would not only extend the story of an established character (Captain Hook), but would also present a different take on a Disney character that we have been conditioned to interpret in only one way.
Given the character’s story arc, it is possible that this could spill in over to season 3 if enough people take to her. Think of this in some ways as something similar to when Emilie de Ravin was cast as Belle last year; they had the option to give her a greater story if they were allowed to this year (as the “Lost” actress had a pilot deal that ended up going south), but they could have also wrapped up the story.
What do you think about this casting? If you want to catch the latest “Once Upon a Time” season 2 promo, it’s rather simple: all you have to do is move your mouse over to the link here.
