‘Glee’ season 4 spoilers: Who’s waiting to join Kate Hudson, others as guest star?
Everyone knows that there is one thing that “Glee” has been known for over the years away from its storylines and musical numbers: finding a way to secure some of the most-popular talent in show business. Just look at their past roster for evidence: Britney Spears, Josh Groban, Olivia Newton -John, Neil Patrick Harris, Ricky Martin, Matt Bomer, Kate Hudson, and Sarah Jessica Parker are all fine examples of what happens when star power arrives at McKinley High.
So who could be next to visit these famous halls (or possibly the world of NYADA)? If she has it her way, it is certainly someone in Bette Midler who has an extensive history of performing behind her already. Speaking in a new interview with “Access Hollywood,” here is what the acclaimed actress had to say on the subject of being on the show at some point in the future:
“I don’t know. [Ryan Murphy] never called me [after asking if I would be on the show] … He mentioned it, but… I’m still waiting for the call. But, it’s fine!”
Ultimately, we have a feeling that it is probably no slight against Midler at all. Rather, “Glee” just has so much going on that it is hard to cram in every guest star that Murphy wants to put on the show. Want some examples? He has long talked about having Anne Hathaway appear possibly as an aunt to Kurt, and that has never happened. In addition, at one point Susan Boyle was heavily talked about to be playing a lunch lady, but that does not really seem to be on the table anymore considering that Marley’s mom is playing that sort of part now.
What guest stars out there do you want to see grace the “Glee” stage still, and is Bette one of them? If you want to read some more scoop about season 4 courtesy of Dianna Agron, be sure to head over to the link here.
