‘Fringe’ season 5 spoilers: Series finale taping wraps
Just as a new episode of “Fringe” season 5 is airing on Friday evening, the show’s cast and crew out in Vancouver are now looking back at the show in the rear-view mirror for the first time. It’s a sad though, but the sci-fi sensation is now through shooting after a hundred glorious episodes on the air.
Multiple stars on the show confirmed the news on Twitter, with the reaction being largely a mixture of introspection, sadness, but also a little bit joy. After all, these are the same creative minds that had an opportunity to be a part of something that has to do down as one of the most creative pieces of primetime entertainment in the past decade; it was a show made for the fans and supported by the fans. Ultimately, it’s pretty clear that there will never be anything quite like it.
Luckily, we still have another month or so of solid entertainment left until we make it to the January 18 series finale entitled “An Enemy of Fate,” which should hopeful give us a sense of closure to the stories of Peter, Olivia, and the frequently-underrated Walter Bishop. There is still no indication just yet as to how the series will end, but we hope that it will be with a little bit of hope given everything that these characters have done in order to try and change both the past, the future, and every universe in between. Anything less at this point would just be tragic, and haven’t we had enough tragedy in the world already?
