‘How I Met Your Mother’ season 8, episode 11 preview: Robin still hates Patrice

The relationship between Barney and Patrice on “How I Met Your Mother” season 8 could be hitting its apex on Monday night’s new episode, and it’s pretty fair to say that whatever happens between the two of them, it will change Barney and Robin’s lives forever.

The first thing we have to point out from the new promo for the show below is merely just how hilarious Robin’s latest tirade against Patrice is. This woman has over the years become like this show’s version of Newman from “Seinfeld,” with the primary difference being that Patrice is not really mean or even a little bit slimy. She’s just one of those constantly-positive people that is hard to be around sometimes; but at the moment, this is either what Barney is looking for or it is a part of some elaborate trick to get Robin to love him.

We at first thought that this story was a trick, but after Barney burned his playbook this past episode, we’re not quite so sure anymore. Robin has her work cut out for her trying to figure this one out, and the promo promises that the final few minutes are going to be something that any fan of the show absolutely can’t miss. Does this somehow involve why Ted is in a tux? It’s possible, though this could just be footage of him attending Barney and Robin’s wedding in the future … otherwise known as the place where he ends up meeting the mother we’ve been waiting to see for so long.
