NBC’s ‘The Voice’ review: Have Cassadee Pope, Nicholas David made finale?

The Voice CoachesOn Tuesday night’s elimination episode of “The Voice,” we finally learned what everyone has been anxiously awaiting to hear for some time: the results for the finale. In some ways, it has been a pretty tight race; despite there being one clear frontronner in Cassadee Pope, the other three artists (in Nicholas David, Terry McDermott, and Trevin Hunte) all seemed to feasibly have some sort of chance at making it through prior to Monday night’s performance show.

Going into the night, we were fairly convinced thanks to the iTunes voting that Trevin was going to be the one going home. With that notorious multiplier for anyone who gets a single in the top ten, these have been a pretty solid indicator thus far as to who will be staying in the competition, and who will be going home.

So did it turn out to be the case again? In a word, yes. Trevin was sent home, and we were left with a final three of artists who all bring elements of soul, rock, pop, and even a little bit of country to the stage. It’s easily the strongest final three that this show has ever had, and it was really time for Trevin to go. He has a bright future ahead of him if he works hard, but for the time being he’s still a little too green, and he needs to work on finding himself as a performer on stage (especially when he is not taking on a big ballad).

Do you think the right person went home, and which returning singer from “The Voice” were you most happy to see back this week for a performance: Juliet Simms, RaeLynn, or Chris Mann?
