‘Arrow’ review: The Huntress is here … and she’s awesome
Just when we start to doubt “Arrow,” it pulls out an episode like this that not only progresses the story of Oliver Queen forward in a major way, but it gives us someone else that he can relate to for a change … even if they are also living in a moral gray area.
Of course, we are talking about none other than The Huntress here! The arrival of Helena was both welcome and exciting, and she was someone who acted with an agenda based off of revenge that was really not all that different than Oliver’s, even if he did not initially see it at first. At this point in his life, it also almost feels as though she could be a better match for Stephen Amell’s character than Laurel, if for no other reason than that she seems to have a much greater understanding of his own unique brand of “justice” than Katie Cassidy’s character does. (Granted, Laurel may also be preoccupied with Tommy for a while, even in spite of his suddenly financial troubles.)
The other interesting facet of this episode was simply that the primary story here is far from over. This is one of the few episodes that we have had an opportunity to see as of late that actually is not meant to stand on its own, and next week could potentially provide the conclusion for it. Then again, we actually hope that the show finds a way to keep her either around for a while longer, or at least consider bringing her back.
