‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 9, episode 7 preview: Cristina and Owen figure it out

“Grey’s Anatomy” season 9 has taken many a twist and turn already, and on Thursday night, we are going to see some occur squarely in the direction of one of the show’s most-beloved but also troubled couples: Cristina and Owen.

So what is the biggest roadblock now to the two parties possibly getting together at some point down the road? At the end of the day, it’s actually rather simple: neither one of them seems to be very interesting in shifting their own feelings on given subjects. For example, we know that Owen wants children, whereas Cristina has taken some pretty drastic actions already to prove that she does not. However, at the same time there is enough evidence that these two want to be together to make us hope. After all, Owen did re-hire Cristina back at the hospital, and some of that had to be for reasons outside of medicine … right?

We certainly do not expect this episode to spontaneously be the moment in which these two characters come together after some sizable time apart, but we do expect there to at least be some movement on if a relationship is in the cards here at all. After all, if it is not, are the two really going to be able to handle spending so much in the way of substantial time together? Perhaps we will have a better idea of the future for these two by the time the fall season ends next month.
