‘Dexter’ season 7 spoilers: The morning after for Dexter Morgan, Hannah McKay

“It was all a misunderstanding.”

If there is one way to describe what happened at the end of this past “Dexter” season 7 episode, this is probably not the way in which we would have done it. Dexter Morgan and Hannah McKay getting together was hardly surprising, but why in the world did he choose to do just when he was about to kill her? This move has put him at an enormous risk, since someone out there now is aware of his secret, and they are also dangerous enough to strike back in their own way.

For now, though, Hannah seems content with just watching Dexter squirm based on what we are seeing in the sneak peek for the new episode airing Sunday night in “Chemistry.” The video shows what is effectively the morning after for the two, as Dexter claims that “this can never happen again” (the sex, not her being taped to a table with a dagger over her heart), and she agrees … which somehow makes Dexter seem angry and insecure. The only real statement of truth within this whole conversation is Hannah saying that the two being together “wouldn’t end well.” Gee, you think?

We know already that this is going to hardly be the last time that these two characters end up spending time together, as Dexter will have some serious explaining to do when none other than Sal Price finds out that he and Hannah have some sort of connection. This is a man who can expose him and ruin his career; unfortunately, he also does not fall within Dexter’s code. Could Hannah take him out instead? This is what we are particularly interested in seeing.
