‘Jersey Shore’ season 6: Shore Store damaged by Hurricane Sandy

To go along with our story on Tuesday about the state of a number of the famous “Jersey Shore” locales after the tragedy of Hurricane Sandy earlier this week, we now have some bad news when it comes to what is quite possibly one of the show’s most-famous landmarks visited by thousands of tourists a year: the Shore Store in Seaside Heights that has been featured in every season that the cast has been in the city (including season 6, which airs Thursday nights on MTV).

According to a new report from TMZ, the good news for the Store is that unlike much of the famed boardwalk in the coastal community, the store is still standing; however, the bad news here is that the gates for the store (which are made of solid metal) have been in part smashed, and much of the merchandise inside (which contains all sorts of messages about the show’s cast and a number of the show’s catchphrases) has been damaged.

While we are sure that the repairs and replacement merchandise are not going to be cheat by any means, the store, like most of the other locales, will surely be rebuild over time as New Jersey gets back adjusted to ordinary life in the coming weeks. This is not going to be the sort of thing that is a quick fix by any means, but the people of the state have proven to be resilient in this tough time; not only that, but the Jersey Shore is such a valuable spot for commerce thanks in part to the MTV show (regardless of whether or not you love or hate it).
