‘The X Factor’ notes: Demi Lovato, Louis Walsh, and Gary Barlow

Time at the judges’ houses begin on “The X Factor” here in America Wednesday night, so with that in mind, why not start with what Demi Lovato had to say about joining this competition to begin with? For many, this may have been a difficult choice to dive headfirst into a talent show while in the middle of a national tour; however, for her it wasn’t really that difficult at all thanks to some of the opportunities she knew that the show would provide.

Speaking as a part of a new interview with Teen Vogue, the “Skyscraper” singer admits that this job really came at the perfect time for her to do something new and exciting with her life:

“It was a no-brainer! Right before I got the offer, I’d been sitting in a meeting feeling really discouraged [about my career], wishing I was further along … And I decided that I needed to stop thinking about what I wished I had and start thinking about what I was going to have. I was ready to do something new, and I wanted to put that out there, in the universe… and then [Simon Cowell] called, literally, a week and a half later.”

While Demi seems to be getting along fine at the moment with her fellow judges in the USA, we can’t say the same about the show across the pond. Gary Barlow was so angry at Louis Walsh over Carolynne Poole’s elimination on Sunday’s episode of “The X Factor UK” that he literally stormed off the stage by the end of the show, and it was not clear that the two were even going to be on speaking terms moving forward. However, sources confirmed that the two have at least tried to talk things out over the past few days, and that both parties are going to try hard to ensure that the focus stays on putting great talent through the rest of the way. We know that Gary’s biggest complaint since joining the show are the presence of what he feels to be “joke acts,” and we know that he is going to hate Rylan Clark for that reason so long as he is around.
