The Blacklist season 5 promo: Are Liz and Reddington having … fun?
There’s something very out there when it comes to the latest The Blacklist season 5 promo, largely because it features Megan Boone and James Spader’s characters seemingly having a good time around each other! It’s such a foreign concept for this show, but it’s something that we could see so much more of moving into a new era. Now that Liz knows that Reddington is seemingly her father, she is going to treat the relationship differently. There’s a new level of trust there. Also, apparently there’s an interest in having a bit of a dance while also shooting bad guys.
The entire preview feels like an attempt to bring a little more lightness and fun into the show, which makes some sense given that the fourth season got so incredibly dark at the tail end of it. There’s no telling how long there will be this sense of fun, given that there are a couple of different things to consider here with our signature CarterMatt spin.
1. There’s always a chance of some new threat coming into play that really puts a clamp on much of the joy and excitement happening at the moment.
2. There’s also a chance that Tom Keen turns up with the remains in the suitcase, and uses that as a way to cause some harm to the relationship. Reddington may have been hiding something within that suitcase that would change the relationship between the two forever, really to the point where it was beyond repair moving into the future.
For now though, let’s just have some fun with this! It’s only fifteen seconds, but these fifteen seconds are well worth watching and should have you very much stoked for everything else that will be coming down the line starting later this month. Also, remember that before The Blacklist season 5 premiere airs CarterMatt is going to have a new exclusive interview coming with executive producer Jon Bokenkamp. This will give you more of a sense as to some of what’s coming up.
