Agents of SHIELD season 5 panel confirmed for New York Comic-Con
As first shared in a post on Twitter by none other than Phil Coulson himself in Clark Gregg, the panel for the upcoming fifth season is going to be taking place on October 7 at 2:00 p.m. Eastern, right from the Theater at Madison Square Garden. It’s one of the coolest venues imaginable for the show, and it may be one of your best opportunities to get some legitimate teases on what is coming up next season. Since Agents of SHIELD is not premiering until later this fall (following Marvel’s Inhumans), there has been less of a rush when it comes to the network releasing a lot of scoop, but that will be changing soon enough.
If you look below, you can get a better tease of how the fine folks over at New York Comic-Con are preparing to celebrate this event in the grandest way imaginable:
“Join Jeph Loeb, Head of Marvel Television, in celebrating Season Five of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., with the entire cast and executive producers as they come together at Madison Square Garden, for the very first time, with an action-packed panel, Q&A and never-before-seen footage. This is the one you’ve been waiting for.”
The Agents of SHIELD season 5 panel will likely include some sort of footage, even if it is just a brief teaser. We here are CarterMatt are imagining that one way or another, the producers will give us just enough to get us through to the new season without giving away the farm. This show has always been really smart about striking that right balance of “just enough” when it comes to their teases. Although when it came to Ghost Rider they really brought out the dog and pony show for that one, but that made sense since it was new.
You know what else should be used to draw more viewers to the show? How awesome it is. Not to get too hyperbolic about Agents of SHIELD here, but the fourth season was the best the series has done by far, especially in terms of introducing a new villain (Aida) who proved to be multi-layered — and we mean that in so many ways given that she effectively became several different characters over the course of the season. Whoever the ABC series brings in now is going to have their work cut out for them with the bar being set that high.
