Stitchers season 4 renewal odds, more for Freeform drama
For now, the show seems to be very clearly on the bubble over at Freeform for many different reasons, with the biggest one being that the ratings aren’t through the roof. They’re not that far off from where they were in season 2, but this is a show that is getting further into its run at this point. The longer a show goes, and often the longer the waits are to learn if it’s coming back. Unfortunately, we do hear that tonight’s episode is going to leave you begging for a fourth season, so hopefully this inspires many fans out there to tweet the show or encourage some of their friends/family to give it a show and watch On-Demand after the fact tonight.
There is a little bit of time that the network has in order to make a decision here, given that Stitchers seasons tend to be very short and often just air over the summer. We do think that there will be word one way or another by the middle of the fall, if that’s any consolation to anyone out there. That gives them time to see what all of the DVR data is and potentially listen to ideas from the writers/producers as to what they would like to do next on the show.
One of the things that, in general, we would like to see a little bit more of with Freeform is then finding a way to give some of their shows fitting ends. Whether you are thinking about a Baby Daddy or a Make It or Break It or a Bunheads, there have been so many shows both now and in the ABC Family days that didn’t have a fitting conclusion. (Do we even need to mention Chasing Life here, or is that too painful for everyone to remember?)
If Stitchers does return for additional episodes, we feel pretty confidently that the show is going to be coming back in around the same timeslot as it did this year next summer. It is a good show for this time of the year because you can often catch up without a problem even if you’ve missed a week or two along the way. Not only that, but it is inspirational in a way given that you’re seeing real, flawed characters still doing their best to help people … even if they have to help themselves in the process here and there. Their lives are not exactly easy, and that’s putting it lightly.
