The Blacklist season 5 spoilers: James Carpinello returning
According to a report that is coming in right now courtesy of Deadline, you are going to see James Carpinello returning in the “fixer” role that he played during the recent season finale entitled “Mr. Kaplan: Conclusion.” As if this news was not enough for you, there is also this: He will be recurring. Therefore, there’s going to be a whole lot more of him this time around as opposed to what you saw of him previously.
There are a number of interesting things that Carpinello’s character could bring to the table, with one of the big ones being an adversary or a foil to Reddington. This is a man who likes to solve problems his own way, and we could see some contention between him and the other problem-solvers on the series. It’s also just great to have some other people mixed up within the seedy belly of the underworld with this show, given that the more colorful characters we get a chance to see, the more entertaining that the world is going to be.
In general, one of the intriguing things as we further enter The Blacklist season 5 is just how much of a mystery there is regarding the show’s future. While last year there was a sense that the Alexander Kirk story arc was going to continue for a while, there is no sense of that this time. Mr. Kaplan is dead, and the show has many different storylines that it may want to wade into but nothing are altogether confirmed at the moment. It may take a little bit more time before some additional answers start to become clear to us.
The one thing that is for sure is that Tom Keen has a very dangerous suitcase in his possession, and it’s something that could easily alter the entire life of one Raymond Reddington. Clearly, he doesn’t want Liz Keen to see it, but there may not be much of a way at the moment to prevent that from happening.
Beyond just his role on The Blacklist, you may know Carpinello from his recent arc as Mario Falcone on Fox’s Gotham, or from some of his time over on CBS’ The Good Wife. We’ll end up seeing however many episodes he remains an integral part of the show here, but we’re certainly excited to see just how large of a role that he has.
