Supernatural season 13: Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki, & Conan teases

Jensen AcklesTonight on TBS, you’re going to get a chance to see Supernatural stars Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki grace Conan. Are you excited for what’s going to be coming up on the episode? Based on what we’re hearing, you really should be.

While we cannot give away everything that happened during the taping of the show, we can tell you that the boys joke with Conan O’Brien about some of the various odds and ends of their show, including how often Dean dies. There are also some super-cute moments involving some of the show’s fans … and a few ridiculous ones, as well. It’s like a Comic-Con panel had a baby with a late-night talk show tonight, and you should love what they bring to the table.

One last tease: Let’s just say that the guys are going to respond to Stephen Amell’s claims regarding an Arrow – Supernatural spin-off that he’d love to do. There will be some videos of the show made available overnight, just in case you don’t have a chance to watch the show when it actually happens tonight. This is a great prelude in general to the Supernatural panel happening later this weekend while at Comic-Con (Hall H!), which is going to be a great opportunity to learn a few details on the upcoming thirteenth season.

For the time being, one of the big surprises regarding Supernatural is how little we actually know about the new batch of episodes at the moment. We know that Misha Collins was back in some shape or form, just as we know that there will be a Scooby-Doo crossover, there is a spin-off in the works starring Kim Rhodes, and that Mark Sheppard is not coming back as Crowley. Alas, that’s the one stuff that is really out there. Filming only recently started, so there will be some time for some other news to be released down the road even beyond the convention. We just want a fun season with some crazy monster-of-the-week stories, mythology that is tied to the brothers personally, and also some cool twists.

As for what we hope this season avoids, it’s some of the pitfalls that we’ve seen in the past. So long as we avoid the brothers lying to each other (they really shouldn’t at this point) and giving them the same threats as the past few years, we’re probably going to be happy. Supernatural’s one of those shows that is always a delight to watch and cover. We don’t have any concerns about whether or not it will stay that way in the long-term.
