Doctor Who season 10 finale spoilers: Steven Moffat on ‘The Doctor Falls’

Doctor Falls

Interested in some more Doctor Who season 10 finale spoilers? Today, we come bearing some news courtesy of Steven Moffat. “The Doctor Falls” is the name of the episode, and the stakes are higher than they’ve ever been for some of these characters to survive.

In the video below, Moffat does his part in order to introduce this episode, which is going to feature a showdown with the Cybermen like no other. One of the big things that you do need to remember here is that Bill Potts seemingly became one of them at the end of this past episode, and there’s a big question that goes along with that: Will we see her be somehow revived, or is she forever doomed to remain in this place? It’s both an interesting question and a tantalizing tease for what could be coming up — if the show does find a way to restore her, here’s to hoping that it is somehow creative and different than any other twist on the show. You can’t do something like turn her and then have the process of un-turning her be easy.

Oh, and Moffat also hints for a moment in here that The Doctor will have to defeat two of his greatest enemies at the same time in The Master, and we know thanks to his history that this is going to be a near-impossible feat for him given this is one of his greatest foes. We anticipate this to be epic, dramatic, and then also the beginning of the end for Twelve. By the end of the episode, the path will be set for the final Christmas Special for Moffat and Peter Capaldi; the regeneration is near, and it remains to be seen just who is going to be hired in the role of Thirteen. New episodes of the show are going to be run by Chris Chibnall after that, so it could be an entirely new show with an entirely different structure. Time is going to tell on that.
