Pride Weekend: Celebrating Waverly, Nicole (Wayhaught) of Wynonna Earp

Wayhaught

Mrs. Carter: With it being Pride Weekend, we’re celebrating many of TV’s top LGBTQ couples — and that must include Wayhaught of Wynonna Earp.

There are certainly many reasons to root for Waverly Earp and Nicole Haught as a couple, and much of its solely because of one word: Happiness. These are two people who live within a crazy world of demons, monsters, and the Earp family’s legacy coming back at them in some surprising ways. This is not an easy world to find stability in, but they are starting to find their way with that as they get to know each other more as a couple.

As for what makes the two of them so likable, much of it has to do with the passion and the spirit that they bring to the relationship. They have such an excitement that comes with the two of them getting a chance to act on their feelings, and they have a unique opportunity to work together as well as being romantically intertwined. They have fun together, and they have a supportive group around them including of course Wynonna.

While they have a long way to go to being together foreversome of the early seeds have been planted and we can’t wait to see how this all plays out this season.

What’s next for Hayhaught?

Following their romantic night together on this past episode, the two have a sense of closeness now that they have not had to date. This is the sort of thing that should bring them closer together, but there is still a cloud hanging over them: Waverly’s possession / that horrific spider-eating thing that you saw at the end of this past episode. Is Nicole going to be able to detect that something is amiss with her when it happens? It’s not something that should cause friction within their relationship, but it is something that will need to be resolved at some point. Waverly is going to need some help to navigate that; also, the two are going to need to stay committed to each other as they navigate many natural bumps in the road. They’re still getting to know each other on many levels; if things were great all of the time, this relationship wouldn’t feel as natural or organic as it does.
