Hawaii Five-0 season 8: Could Alicia Brown return?
Responding to a post on Twitter, showrunner Peter M. Lenkov revealed that he’d love to have Claire Forlani back as the character, who made several appearances last season and became a close friend and ally of McGarrett’s. She was also a part of one of the most intense episodes of the season as she faced off with the deadly Dr. Madison Gray. The “ending” to this story was that Alicia had a gun on Madison and was being taunted into killing her. Alicia called the cops and told them that a murder had been committed, a shot was fired and the screen went black. There was a little chatter on the show about it afterwards, but not enough to really satisfy us on what really went down in that moment.
While it’s hard to pinpoint specifically what sort of stories you would give Alicia with her return to the show, the good news with a character like this is that there’s always going to be a use for her with the Task Force. With her background in criminal profiling, she will be able to offer up a lead at times where there potentially is none. In addition to that, she also could be an asset out in the field if they are ever short on numbers for whatever reason. Before we get to all of the benefits she could give to the team, we would want to know exactly went down with her and Madison. Did she kill Madison? Did she get arrested? Did Madison grab the gun from her and it was self defense?
One of the great things about where Hawaii Five-0 is as a series at the moment is that they’ve built up over time a rather great roster of great recurring players who they can bring back whenever they want to do so. A part of the fun with this show is not knowing when they’re going to be back, only to then see them pop up in an episode or two. Alicia and McGarrett have been through enough already that it’d be a shame to not see them work together again in some capacity.
Hawaii Five-0 season 8 starts filming later this summer, and will premiere on CBS later this fall. Naturally, our expectation is that there’ll be some more news to report on as the show gets closer to its premiere.
