The Bachelorette spoilers: Lucas a.k.a. Whaboom and the weirdest scene ever
Specifically, the sneak peek below indicates that for at least a moment or two, Whaboom is leaving his catchphrase behind … not that this is stopping him from being one of the most ridiculous contestants in recent memory. Tensions have bubbled over between him and Blake, with Blake specifically telling Rachel that Lucas is there for the wrong reasons. (Gee, what gave that away?) Somehow, Blake stating one of the most obvious things ever still seems to be a point of contention, most likely because Whaboom does want to keep some sort of illusion going that he has some better intentions at heart for being a part of this season.
As a response to Blake spreading some of this said talk, Whaboom seems to have some sort of explanation: Jealousy? A crush? He tells Rachel that Blake may be trying to hide some sort of infatuation, and then tells this really bizarre and potentially not-safe-for-primetime story about Blake eating a banana in front of him. Rachel’s response to this is exactly what everyone should be thinking: “Are you joking?” It’s so bizarre that it’s impossible to take seriously, especially in the dramatic way Lucas is telling it.
While Blake hasn’t really done anything to endear himself to Rachel — talking about other guys typically isn’t a great use of your alone time — Whaboom is going to see himself most likely sent out the door soon. The third Rose Ceremony is typically when most of the “joke” contestants find themselves out the door, and we’re already at Rose Ceremony #2. Whaboom is a guy who has some sort of acting history coming into this, and obviously he was brought on just for the purpose of spicing up the show during the early going. Maybe he will bring some Whaboom to Bachelor in Paradise — it did just start filming — otherwise, this could be the end of the road for him on the franchise.
