American Horror Story season 7: The tales of red, white, and blue

Finding concrete info about American Horror Story season 7, which is going to be political in nature, may be almost as difficult as some actual political investigations going on right now. While the show is opening the gates a little bit more than they did with Roanoke, that’s not saying all that much given precisely how much content is still under heavy lock and key.

If there is one thing that is worth noting at this point, it’s that hair color of all things seems to be one of the key superficial elements of the show. If you recall, co-creator Ryan Murphy shared not too long ago a teaser of someone with blue hair; it’s virtually been confirmed via people on social media that this person is Evan Peters. This could be one of the biggest roles for Peters since Freak Show, and we’re down for that given how under-utilized he’s been ever since.

Meanwhile, Murphy himself confirmed that Billie Lourd’s character will sport a wintry white ‘do, and conventional wisdom suggests that someone else will be going with a deep red.

As for what these hair colors are meant to represent, the jury is still out. Nonetheless, there are some interesting ideas such as them being representative of mood, or maybe them even being representative of political party. Peters could be a Democrat, the redhead Republican, and Lourd somewhere in the middle as Independent. In which case, she’s probably the person bombarded with the most stuff as the two different sides attempt to pull her over.

Or, who knows? Maybe Murphy is just giving some of his young characters crazy hair colors as a means to offer up some commentary on hipster millennials. Given that this is a show that loves to convey some sort of deeper social message, that wouldn’t shock us, either.

The one thing that is for certain: You’ll be waiting a while to see season 7, given that the premiere is not expected to come up until this fall.
