Riverdale season 2 spoilers: Skeet Ulrich promoted to series regular
Structurally, the first thing that you should do is look at the series-regular promotion as a commitment that at no point during the second season of the show will the actor take off and land another gig. He will be available at the producer’s disposal, and be involved however much that the producers need him. This does not mean that he will necessarily be in every episode.
What is somewhat interesting about the timing of this said promotion is that it’s coming right at the tail end of a complicated arc in which Ulrich’s FP Jones found himself arrested following the lengthy saga of Jason Blossom’s murder and the suicide of his father, who was responsible for his death. Meanwhile, his son had decided to join his old biker gang, sending him potentially down a dark path.
In a statement per Deadline, who first confirmed the news, executive producer Sarah Schecter had the following message to pass along:
“We so loved having Skeet on Riverdale last year, that we couldn’t imagine Riverdale without him … He’s a stellar actor and we feel we have just scratched the surface of who FP is. We are excited to have Skeet continue on this journey and we can’t wait for the audience to see what he is up to this year.”

One other change for the upcoming season is going to be an increased presence of Archie’s rival Reggie; this role was recast in order to ensure that there would be further availability there.
Overall, the pressure is now on Riverdale to deliver some more great content when it returns — we’re in the midst of our Emmy Preview series, and there is a good chance that you will see the show pop up in some categories here and there.
