Summer Status Report: Where is Major Crimes season 6?
Alas, there is something standing in the way of this happening, and it is a little something known as network schedules. Rather than giving you another summer premiere this year, Major Crimes season 6 is starting instead in the fall. There is no firm premiere date at the moment, but the cast and crew are currently hard at work trying to find a way to deliver some of the best scenes and stories to you possible. Expect a premiere date to be revealed a little bit later in the summer, along with some more details of what is coming up on the show.
One of the biggest things that is known at the moment regarding Major Crimes season 6 is that there is going to be some new characters coming on board. There will also probably be some more extended cases that last longer than a single episode, given that this is something that’s become over time a little bit more of a hallmark of this series, and something that helps it to stand out over some of its network counterparts.
As for what else we do want to see over the course of season 6, consider the following some worthy suggestions.
1. A Sharon / Andy wedding – This goes almost without saying at this point, but after the lengthy journey that they’ve been on, they absolutely deserve some sort of happiness. This ceremony would be a brilliant celebration of the show and some of its characters. Fans deserve that after watching the story play out for so long.
2. A different story for Rusty – Eventually, it would be nice to see some happiness for him romantically. For the time being, though, it seems like the time is right for a different focus.
3. More character spotlight episodes – Give us an episode that is almost entirely about Sanchez, and then maybe a story from Provenza and Tao to go along with it. Allow some of your supporting characters to shine to build out the ensemble any more.
Why is TNT waiting for more new episodes?
For whatever reason, they are looking to build up more of their summer programming — hence why The Last Ship is seemingly not something that is a huge priority for them at the moment.

I agree with Naomi! TNT does not deserve this show! They continue to ignore Major Crimes while promoting the hell out of their other junk shows. I hope their ratings tank so bad that heads will roll! I am so excited for season 6 of Major Crimes and I have no premier date in June. I am really looking forward to the multi episode arcs. I know that the writing will be top notch and the actors will continually wow us with their performances. I loved Leonard Roberts in season 5 and I look forward to seeing how he interacts with Commander Raydor and the MC squad now that he is the chief. So looking forward to the Shandy wedding, it will be the culmination of years of hoping for the Shandy Shippers. I want to know what’s going with all my favorites. What are Mike Tao’s boys up too, how are Julio and Mark adjusting, what’s up with Buzz and Bill Jones’ family. Will Chuck and Amy get engaged, how is Rusty getting along without Gus? So many questions that I am hoping to have answered. And of course we have the big question…what is Phillip Stroh up to? I love this show!

I thought Rusty and Gus broke up? If Philip Stroh is around, he’s always trying to kill Rusty since he hasn’t managed to yet. I hope this showrunner will not allow that to happen to his gay character, as he is gay himself. It’s too cliche and cheap to kill/have the gay character die.

Instead of MC, viewers get treated to two new BREAKOUT hits, Nails and Will, that can barely get more than 1000 followers on social media. All I know is that it better not screw with our additional episodes cuz Reilly needs to be tarred and feathered if it does.
I can’t wait for the multiple episode ARCs. I love those and the writers do such an awesome job with them. I can frequently guess the murderer in the single one. I have yet to do it in the multiple arc ones. We have such a fun time discussing them too.
We know Leonard Roberts is taking over as Assistant Chief. It has been awesome to see him attend the charity functions with the group.
I want to know what is going on with Amy and Chuck. Writers left that hanging last season.
Glad to know it isn’t only MC that TNT/Reilly treat like crap. I am SO over this network it isn’t even funny. If I had a magic wand, MC would be away from TNT and on broadcast television.
