The Fosters season 5 promo: What’s ahead for Maia Mitchell, cast
This promo shows you almost the immediate aftermath of what happened at the end of season 4, which included Callie finding herself in a desperate position thanks to another poor decision at an inopportune time. She could be beaten, assaulted, abused, or something worse in the time it takes Stef to find her, and that is provided that she is found at all. Callie has to learn to change her impulses if she ever wants to be happy in this series, given that far too often, she finds herself in a position where she makes reckless choices without thinking the long-term ramifications of them through.
As for what else is coming in this preview, be prepared to see the crazy aftermath play out to the protest at Anchor Beach. Following the news that the school is going to be privatized, do you think that the students are going to take that well at all? Basically, this could prove to escalate in some shocking, dangerous ways. To add to this, Jesus suffered a major setback in his recovery, and the tension between him and Brandon over Emma is palpable. If things aren’t handled in the right way, it’s possible that the relationship present here will never repair itself in a realistic way. This is absolutely something that these characters still need to aware of, and be mature almost beyond their years.
The thing about The Fosters is that it almost always does tend to start off with the story in the darkest possible direction, but overtime, things do start to quiet down and become a little less crazy. The night is dark, but the sun will rise again and there will (hopefully) be some opportunities for optimism. Callie has a new relationship, Mariana and Jude are finding their voices, and as the characters get a little older, hopefully they will start to learn more and more from their mistakes.
