Dancing with the Stars 24 finale: Does Normani Kordei have it?
On the surface, it does feel like the Fifth Harmony member is the runaway favorite at this point to win. Just remember that she’s drawing the best scores, and in terms of social-media traffic has the biggest following. Fifth Harmony fans are an enormous and passionate bunch, and they will do anything in their power to secure a win for her. She’s also got a popular partner in Val Chmerkovskiy who is, far and away, the most notable pro out of the final three left. This does often matter when the dust starts to settle on a season.
The one twist to the system in the finale is this: Crazy things have happened this season already. Someone in Heather Morris left in the most shocking elimination in history after she got a perfect 40. Meanwhile, Simone Biles left last week after getting two perfect scores. The only reason that her exit wasn’t more shocking was because it was so late in the competition and crazy things like that have happened before.
Could David Ross actually be the winner? That’s hard to imagine. There have been surprising winners over the course of the show’s history, but at the same time there has not been a single winner who we’d say was far and away inferior to the other dancers. Look at a Bill Engvall or a Bristol Palin, who both made it to their respective finales. David’s better than either of them, but the judges will more than likely put him in a distant enough third that it will be hard for the voters at home to beat him even if there is a deluge.
Now, let’s get to sharing some of the dance styles for the final episode.
