Elementary season 6 premiere date hopes for Jonny Lee Miller, cast
The bad news when it comes to Elementary is that the show only has a thirteen-episode order for season 6. It’s hard to be all that angry about it given that the season 6 pickup was far from a formality, but still, it’s going to a strange transition going to such a short order after being spoiled with 24 over the past several years.
One other bit of bad news at present is that the premiere date is far from clear. If this was the fall, it’d be easy to give you three separate dates to choose from in September 24, October 1, and then also October 8. Unfortunately, because the show is not on the CBS fall schedule, many of these dates may not apply at all. Instead, you may be looking at something like March for the show to return depending on the performance of the fall schedule. If all of the fall shows perform well, March or later could be the likely premiere date. If something bombs, maybe the show comes back in a different timeslot in January. If that’s the case, maybe there is a chance that the episode order ends up getting extended. At the moment, though, it’s best to just go with the news that is out there as opposed to assuming that some more good news could be heading in its direction.
As for what we’d like to see in the new season, obviously exploring more within the Sherlock Holmes universe is at the top of the list. It’d be great to have a little more Mycroft, or for the series to dive into more Mycroft / Irene Adler. With the show’s future beyond season 6 currently uncertain, one thing that the show has to consider now is trying to set up the endgame to the story. If season 6 is the final one for the show, one of the big things that you want to do is ensure that you’ve given the viewers all of the necessary closure that they need. Fingers crossed that the next season does that.
