The Big Bang Theory season 11: What should happen with Amy, Sheldon, others
Specifically, the show needs to continue the evolution of some of the characters that it’s established already — it will continue to have the challenge of moving these people forward, while still not losing the essence of who they are or some of the comedy that they bring to the table. This patience and balance is why it took so long to begin with to get to the Sheldon – Amy engagement.
Moving forward, the best course of action is to address season 11 hopes on a character-by-character basis.
Sheldon – Get immersed into the wedding planning. There is very little that is funnier than the idea of Sheldon having some say in how he wants to get married. Maybe it’s not something he thought about for his entire life, but he will certainly obsess over it now.
Amy – Combat Sheldon’s obsessions. Also, introduce more of your family! Given that there is a wedding coming, now does seem like the right time to finally meet some people tied to her character. In that sense, she’s still one of the most mysterious on the show.
Penny – Continue along the thread of her looking for advancement in her career. The idea of her and Zack not working together feels almost like a missed opportunity in retrospect, largely because her working with him would’ve A) given more of that character to the show and B) it produced tension with her and Leonard.
Leonard – While Sheldon is getting success in love, have Leonard receive a big career achievement. Give him a chance to celebrate something on his own, and then see how Sheldon reacts to it.
Raj – A new love interest could be, but it also could be predictable. His journey to financial freedom while living with Bert has a ton of potential given that it’s not something that the show’s done before in any capacity.
Bernadette – Allow her to fly more of her freak flag instead of her being the person getting made at Howard for flying his. There was a little bit of hers near the end of the season, and it feels like the right time to have more of that.
Howard – It feels like the right time to bring in his father now, or explore it further at least. It’s one of the biggest loose ends of the show, and it doesn’t feel like the sort of thing that the writers will never address.
