Fear the Walking Dead season 3: Alycia Debnam-Carey, cast on new story

Debnam-Carey

With Fear the Walking Dead coming to AMC early next month, Alycia Debnam-Carey and the rest of the cast are setting up the story!

In terms of the premise coming up, the writers have constructed arguably the strongest premise in season 3 out of any of the ones released by the network to date. Here, you will see Debnam-Carey’s Alycia, Madison (Kim Dickens), Travis (Cliff Curtis), and a number of the main characters find themselves in a place that is well-prepared for a zombie apocalypse. They’ve found a village chock full of doomsday preppers! These people were long labeled as crazy outsiders spouting nonsense; now, they are the kinds and wheels of the castle.

The aforementioned cast members all discuss further in the video below what it is like being at this new home, the beauty of filming in this part of Mexico, and getting to experience new dynamics and new characters. One of the most intriguing elements is the presence of Sons of Anarchy alum Dayton Callie in a significant role, someone important to this new community.

What works about this premise is that it is combining some of the strongest ideas of The Walking Dead proper — interesting communities and memorable locations — with also a concept that is totally new. Even with such a big time jump in the pilot thanks to Rick Grimes being in a coma, these people on Fear the Walking Dead are the most prepared out of anyone seen so far in the series.

Unfortunately, at the same time you know that things are going to go to hell in a handbasket for this family sooner or later. Maybe the preppers don’t take all that well to a band of outsiders coming in and corrupting their land. Or, maybe they have objections to the family for their ideologies or beliefs. It’s also just possible that some violent batch of people or zombies come in and murder everyone. No matter what happens, it’s probably going to be interesting to get everyone in this place and see what unfolds from there. It’ll almost certainly be crazy to the umpteenth degree.
