Madam Secretary season 3 finale spoilers: Tea Leoni, cast face questions

Madam Secretary season 3 finaleThe Madam Secretary season 3 finale is coming on CBS in one week’s time, and drama is going to decorate it from start to finish. There will be major trust issues, bit revelations, possible betrayals, and a little bit of McCord family drama here and there. It will be a microcosm of the season, and hopefully will serve to set up season 4 of the series in new and interesting ways.

Will there be a cliffhanger? It’s possible, though the show may have a heck of a challenge ahead of itself trying to top the one that was cultivated for last season. That one threw many viewers for a loop, and set up largely the first half of the season with the whole race between President Dalton and Sam Evans.

For a little more information on specifically what’s coming, take a look below.

Madam Secretary season 3 finale synopsis – “Elizabeth heads to Brussels to seek NATO’s support against Russia when it threatens to invade Bulgaria, but when France refuses to cooperate, it could threaten the alliance’s very existence. Also, Henry’s new government role has him dive into the Russia issue and turn to his former operative, Dmitri Petrov (Chris Petrovski) for help, and as Nadine and Mike B’s relationship heats up, Elizabeth finds out information about her old friend that makes her question his loyalties.”

What makes Madam Secretary often work so effectively is combining the small-scale personal stuff with everything going on at a national level. In reading this synopsis, there’s not a whole lot of room for personal stuff in there! Maybe the Nadine / Mike B relationship is meant to be in? Maybe you can consider that to be the “information” about Elizabeth’s old friend, but this may actually end up being more dramatic and significant than anything else mentioned.

Regardless of any hype or expectations going into the finale, there is a reason to have confidence that the show will pull everything off. Barbara Hall and the writers earned enough loyalty through the first sixty-plus episodes that there is a reason to have confidence what they are bringing to the table here.
