Elementary season 5 episode 23 spoilers: Is Sherlock starting to unravel?

Elementary season 5 episode 23 is the penultimate one of the season, and with that, this is the sort of episode that you’re going to want to watch live. It’s an installment that will feature Holmes and Watson continuing to be working cases, but where things stand is something that is starting to get to Jonny Lee Miller’s character. He will be distracted in some way (as he usually is), and this will cause some problems for Watson as she does everything that she can to help him. The problem is that she may not know the full source of it.

Over the course of this Elementary episode, you will see the arrival of Joanna Christie of Narcos fame as a character known only as May. She’s someone who will be essential to the story at the end of this season, and then also whatever comes after that moving into a potential sixth season. There are some indications that this could be someone with origins to previous Arthur Conan Doyle source material, but beyond that, there isn’t too much more that we can say.

Elementary season 5 episode 23 synopsis – “Holmes and Watson investigate a murder that puts them in the crosshairs of one of New York City’s deadliest gangs. Also, Holmes’ behavior becomes increasingly erratic when he secretly interacts with a mysterious woman.”

If there is anything that we will say to some of you prospective conspiracy theorists out there at the moment, it is that we do see some sort of slight physical resemblance between Christie and Natalie Dormer, who played Moriarty through a few appearances on the show. We don’t actually think that this is what is going on here, but there is something fun to think about here. Also, it’s probably wrong to minimize the overall breadth of source material by assuming that Moriarty is the only great character.

One way or another, don’t expect this episode to stand much on its own; it will carry over into the finale, and we are excited to see what is coming up over the course of the hour.
