Is Chicago Med new tonight on NBC? It’s fair to ask the question, but the answer may lead to a little bit of disappointment.
Alas, the medical drama is not going to be giving you a new installment on the network tonight, with the simplest reason for that being that there are only so many weeks left in the season, and the network wants to save some of them for a little further down the road. Also, NBC is airing two episodes of The Blacklist tonight to further ensure that this show wraps up filming before we get around to the end of May.
So while you are waiting to get to see more Chicago Med episodes, now does seem like the right opportunity to start to preview further the final episode of the season! NBC announced recently that the last installment of season 2 carries with it the title of “Love Hurts,” which of course makes us think of a certain song — and we’re pretty sure that will make you feeling the same.
Judging from the just-released synopsis from the network, all suggestions are the the issues that Robin is currently dealing with are going to be ones that she is forced to handle in one way or another through the end of the season:
“A new hotshot doctor arrives at Chicago Med causing competition for Dr. Rhodes (Colin Donnell). Dr. Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss) and Dr. Manning (Torrey DeVitto) work together to diagnose a Syrian refugee without a medical record. When Robin (guest star Mekia Cox) is admitted back into the hospital for more complications, Dr. Reese (Rachel DiPillo) takes a different approach to her treatment. Distracted from work because of Robin’s worsening case, Dr. Charles (Oliver Platt) is challenged by Goodwin (S. Epatha Merkerson) and Noah (guest star Roland Buck III) hosts a graduation party that brings everyone together.”
We do certainly expect that there is an emotional conclusion to this season coming, and we feel that even more so given that the status for a Chicago Med season 3 is still unclear. This episode marks a great opportunity for the producers to throw all of their cards out on the table in hopes of making a strong case for the show to return … in the event it’s not renewed already at this point.
