Big Brother Canada 5 live feed spoilers: Is there any hope for Cassandra?

Cassandra

Cassandra remains in jeopardy on Big Brother Canada, but unfortunately, we cannot say that we’ve had a chance to enjoy as of late the most intensive past day or two of live feeds. They’ve been, by and large, rather dull. There was a cleaning task yesterday to get some people off of slop after the house-wide punishment, but that was it.

Oh, and there have been of course small efforts here and there to keep Cassandra in the game. Players like Gary, Ika, William, and Dre have considered the possibility, and to her credit, she’s still fighting hard for it. The problem that she has is that she’s not getting votes from Bruno, Kevin, Sindy, Dillon, and Emily. They all seem firmly on one side. Then, you’ve got people like William, Gary, Dre, and Karen who may not be that invested in keeping Jackie on their side. Demetres may be one of the real swing votes here — Ika is someone who’s talked about keeping Cass, but even if she does that and Demetres votes with some of the crew we’ve already mentioned (Bruno and company), it still doesn’t matter all that much. She goes home, and that sets the stage for the remainder of the season.

Is there a reason for some people to keep Cass? We’d argue both yes and no given that if they make it a majority vote to evict her, they may be able to get Jackie back (at least other than Karen who hates her) and try to work with her down the road. She has to know most of the veterans are together and there is nothing to benefit her in the game there. The benefit to Cass staying is that she’s a huge target for other players to hide behind. If you’re someone like Dre who’s in real danger next week, that’s a huge thing to consider.

However, keeping Cass also means that you’re trusting her to be loyal. She’s the sort of player who may be loyal for a week or two, but if she finds a better way to stay alive, she’ll cut you without a moment’s thought or guilt. This could lead to some really gut-wrenching betrayals down the line.

We think that Cass will be going on Thursday, though it’s far more entertaining if she stays just because it gives Neda more of a concrete rival in the house and you get rid of someone in Jackie who is not doing all that much.
