Dancing with the Stars host helps end William Shatner – Nick Viall feud

William Shatner - Nick Viall feud

Is the William Shatner – Nick Viall feud revolving around Dancing with the Stars over? Well, it may have been a one-sided feud to begin with, so we don’t think Ryan Murphy was ever going to be able to make a show out of it.

Nonetheless, it does seem as though Shatner has decided to end sending his ire towards the former star of The Bachelor — or specifically, campaign so that all of his votes for everyone other than Nick in an effort to send him home. (Consider this further evidence that Shatner is no fan of reality television.)

In the end, it appears as though the hero who managed to sweep in and save the day was none other than show host Tom Bergeron, who is friends with the former Star Trek star and who also happens to be close enough to Nick to want the feud to start to slow down.

First, we’ve got the photo below from Bergeron calling for Shatner to be the one to shut things down so everyone can move forward. (The best part of this photo to us is the woman photo-bombing them in the car behind them.)

Then, we also had earlier today Shatner issuing an olive branch to Viall online, saying that he may have “matured” since whatever it was that transpired that he didn’t like. If we had to guess, we’d say that all of this probably stems from the end of Andi Dorfman’s season of The Bachelorette, otherwise known as the thing that many people who don’t like Nick cling to as some sort of explanation as to why they feel that way.

Finally, here is Nick accepting said peace offering — even if he is a little bummed out still about Shatner’s treatment of him (he is an icon, and it’s possible he loved Star Trek at some point in his life), at least he’s putting everything behind him and focusing on the dancing.

Ultimately, it appears that the feud is now over, and everyone can now move onward … and hopefully, this won’t become too much of a storyline on the show now. The truth is, Nick’s been a pretty good dancer, and while we love Bill’s work, this show’s such a positive entity that a negative campaign against anyone takes away the fun.
