NCIS season 14, episode 18 preview: Mark Harmon, cast retrace their steps
Synopsis – “To carry out a sailor’s dying wish, Gibbs and the NCIS team re-investigate a murder case that was originally ruled an accidental death. Also, the case reminds Torres of a tragic time from his past.”
When it comes to the Gibbs story, the biggest thing that we are excited about here is the prospect of getting to see him close a previously-closed case and hopefully get some justice for the people involved. We always do like these stories, mostly because of the fact that they force the officers to think in a different way than they are accustomed to.
As for the Torres story, the biggest appeal is simply getting a chance to see a fantastic performance from one Wilmer Valderrama. We know that he can be a fantastic actor when given great material, and we’re still waiting to crack open some of the layers of this character. When you think about how much time he’s spent away from his family, you start to think about some of the deep, painful things that he’s probably seen and experienced. These define him as a character, and these memories probably don’t go away just because of the fact that he is no longer under deep cover.
A brief scheduling note
After this episode airs, you’re going to see the show going on a brief hiatus. Therefore, our main advice for you now is to enjoy every second of this episode that you can. It does seem like there’s a good bit to look forward to.

I’m really looking forward to more Gibbs & Torres! Would love to see Gibbs get a new love interest soon! But I’m sorry NCIS is “going on a brief hiatus”. Wondering why. Hope everyone in the cast is OK.
