The Bachelor: A Corinne Olympios reality show may not be easy as she thinks
Specifically, here is what she had to say on the subject recently to E! News:
“I think America is interested in me having a reality TV show with my family, my family is awesome, as you all could tell on my hometown date. America totally wants it, I hear it all the time … There is a lot of talk about, I’m going to say a lot of networks are interested. Obviously, my loyalty is here with ABC and things like that. So there’s still a lot of stuff to be worked out, but we’ll see what comes in the future.”
First of all, of course Corinne is going to say that “America totally wants” a reality show, and obviously she would want that since she’d be the star and the face of the franchise. Yet, her getting that is not quite as simple as it would seem.
In terms of her “loyalty” being to ABC, it almost has to be. She, like so many other contestants from the franchise, is tied to them contractually. They don’t want someone getting famous from their franchise and then going off to do other things without their approval. If she was to do another show, they’d have to okay for it within a certain period of time … and they may ask her to do Bachelor in Paradise first before it happens as a way for them to get a ratings bump.
Could we feasibly see a Freeform show similar to Ben and Lauren and the one coming about Emily and Haley Ferguson? Sure, but that’s far from a given and her Paradise story could be a key component in having that happen.
