What Hawaii Five-0, its fans should do to ensure season 8 renewal on CBS

Hawaii -

Will there be a Hawaii Five-0 season 8 renewal coming in the near future? All signs point to “yes.” While we’ve gone through some of this before, it’s still remarkable that the series remains up a good 6% versus the previous season in the key 18-49 demographic. The rise in total viewers is even greater — over 9%.

What we’re trying to say here should be fairly transparent to almost everyone: There’s very little reason for CBS to cancel it. Unless there was some secret trapdoor where all the money falls through in between seasons 7 and 8, why would it? Still, we don’t like to be the person to count the chickens before they hatch. Nothing is official until it’s official. Therefore, we want to offer up a few suggestions for what you, and watch the show itself, can do in order to ensure a renewal.

Be more active on social media – We don’t think that we need to tell you to watch live, since the show’s ratings are already improved this season. Our advice instead is to really work and prioritize getting a further discussion going when it comes to favorite episodes, Twitter campaigns, and having fun online. There are times when we wish more of the cast was present over there, but we understand why they’re not given that sometimes Twitter can be like getting stuck in quicksand, and it draws you in whenever you want to go and do other things instead.

Make your voice heard to CBS – Watch the repeats. Write to them on Facebook. Contact them via the official site. One way or another, remind them that you love this show and want it to last for another year, if not more. (Yes, we’re aware that there are Alex O’Loughlin questions after next season, but let’s cross that bridge when we come to it.)

For the show itself, stay in your current lane – What this season has done a great job at is recognizing that this is not an ordinary crime procedural in a cool setting. It’s a character show! You’ve got many fun episodes this year that are really about the people more so than the cases. The Valentine’s Day episode was in particular fantastic.
