The Voice: Adam Levine, Gwen Stefani, Blake Shelton, Alicia Keys cover Waterfalls (video)

The Voice -

With season 12 of The Voice right around the corner, doesn’t this feel like the perfect time to share the latest vocal collaboration? We certainly think so, which is why we’re happy to be here to share The Voice Waterfalls, a cover like no other featuring all four coaches.

In the clip below, you can hear Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani, and Alicia Keys all having a great time while they cover the hit TLC song. They all do a very worthy job taking on the song, and we may go so far as to say that this is one of the best coach covers we’ve seen!

One of the things that this cover does very much benefit from is the fact that the four coaches all get an opportunity to shine individually and in a group setting. Also, it’s pre-recorded rather than having the coaches all out there on the stage together to perform. Maybe that will still happen on Monday’s premiere, but for the time being, we prefer this. It’s a little bit more intimate, it shows off some of the harmonies rather well, and it does make you feel like the chemistry is there all across the board … after all, it should be.

It’s interesting in a way that every coach on the show this season should be very familiar with it. Yet, they’ve never worked together before in this configuration. Blake and Gwen obviously have a personal relationship that helps with their chemistry, while Adam and Blake have been around each other forever. Alicia is the newcomer to the group, but it’s hardly like being on the show was the first time she met these people. She’s familiar with all of them. In the end, we anticipate some great competition and some good vocalists over the days ahead. The coaches are a big part of why the show works, and NBC and the producers have done a great job making sure that is still there.

What do you think about this The Voice Waterfalls cover, and how it stacks up with other coach covers over the years? Share in the comments!
