‘Timeless’ episode 15 spoilers: A change to the Eliot Ness timeline

Timeless -

We’ve seen that “Timeless” is a show that is reasonably unafraid when it comes to tooling around with various aspects of American history. Given that they exist in their own universe, why should they concern themselves too much with having everything be an accurate reflection of how it is in history at the end of every episode? This is a show about time travel, so with that, there’s a lot of fun that comes with showing the effects of said time travel.

On Monday night’s new episode, it turns out that you could end up seeing some of this play out with Eliot Ness, who we know in history for his heroics as one of the people responsible for taking down Cal Capone once and for all. Will he be remembered that way on the show? In discussing this subject, Misha Collins (who plays the character) had the following to say in an interview with TVLine previewing the episode:

“…There is a very stark departure from history as we know it and what unfolds in Ness’ story in this episode. Because of the nature of them meddling with the past, we find that Ness has a remarkably different biography by the end of this episode than he does in the version of reality that you and I live in.”

Will this prove itself to be enormously significant when it comes to the story of “Timeless” beyond just the Ness character? We do have to wait and see on that, but we’d certainly like there to be something that happens in this episode that makes the time team consider going back — provided of course that there is another season to go back to. Given the low ratings for the most-recent episode of the show, we’re certainly more worried for the future of this series than we’ve ever been before.

Hopefully, Collins’ debut does get some “Supernatural” fans to check out the show; with there only being two more episodes still to go, the series needs every bit of help that it possibly can.
