‘Outlander’ season 3 notes: An additional goodbye; Scott Kyle’s east-coast jaunt

Outlander -After a day off from reporting on all things “Outlander” (we anticipate the news being a tad tighter between now and filming starting in South Africa), we are back once more today with a pair of updates regarding both a celebration of the show, and a tour that an actor from it is embarking on.

Celebrations from Scotland – With filming officially done on the Scottish leg of season 3 filming, this allowed all of those responsible for making it to kick back and relax last night at the wrap party! There are some photos that are going around on social media, and it seems as though everyone had a good time relaxing after what had to be a very exhausting past several months. While working on a show like this may be a labor of love, it still takes a significant amount of time and effort.

Congratulations to all the cast and crew in Scotland! Once there is some further news to report on South Africa (the next filming location for the third season), we’ll have it for you — other than some images of the filming locations and the studio, there isn’t too much else out there as of yet. We do have further confirmation that the architecture that was already in place because of “Black Sails” is one of the reasons why “Outlander” decided to use the place to recreate Jamaica / the Caribbean — there are really only a select few studios around the world that excel at these sort of nautical scenes. Another good one is in Mexico, where “Fear the Walking Dead” filmed some of their second season.

Scott Kyle heads out on East Coast tour – Kyle, known for playing Ross on the show, is going to be doing a series of great events across the East Cost in the coming months, with the proceeds going to the Bathgate Regal Theatre. It’s a chance to experience some great work (and the theatre) with fellow fans, while having fun and supporting a great cause in the process. You can read more about the events, including the schedule, over at the link here. Given that the events are being referred to as “FUNdraising,” there’s a good indication in there that you’ll have a great time!

As always with these “Outlander” stories, we welcome your thoughts with a comment below! Meanwhile, head over here to secure some other news when it comes to the show. (Photo: Starz.)
