‘Madam Secretary’ season 3, episode 14 return date later than expected
Last week, it appeared as though we were going to get a chance to see the next new episode of “Madam Secretary” a little bit later in the month. Unfortunately, that does not seem to be the case anymore.
According to the Futon Critic, the Tea Leoni series is going to be off the air on CBS now until we get to Sunday, March 5 — there is no new episode on tonight, but we figure that there are some people out there who may have anticipated this. We’ve seen the show take more or less the entire month of February off before, and it makes sense why the network would want to do this when you remember that we’ve got the Super Bowl, the Grammys, and the Oscars occupying three of the next four weeks. There’s not all that much of a reason to air new episodes of this show somewhere in there when it is only going to hurt its ratings.
As a result of this late return date, we cannot say too much right now in terms of what’s going to be coming up. The good news is that you can at least have a little bit more confidence that there is not going to be any sort of drama ahead regarding President Dalton’s legitimacy in office. That story has finally shut its doors, and we can move on to doing some more of the traditional storytelling that you can expect from this show, one that revolves around Elizabeth McCord having to tow the line while tackling some complicated issues that have grave importance to the entire world. It’s a difficult job, but one that she seems constantly ready and eager to tackle.
Hopefully, at some point over the next two weeks CBS will hand down the full synopsis for the show’s return. When that happens, we’ll be back with something further to report.
